Full Retail Price Ladies Shoes vs. Discount Ladies Shoes

Have you ever wondered if there is a difference between full retail price items and items that are sold at a discount?  Also, you may be wondering if there is any difference between items that are advertised as “discount” and those that are advertised at “wholesale prices.”  Take ladies shoes for instance.  You might see an ad in the Sunday paper for a blow out sale on women’s clothing.  The local department store is offering “discount ladies shoes” at a certain percentage mark down.  Then you might see a billboard on the highway advertising “Wholesale Ladies Shoes” at some store in an outlet mall.

Well, in most cases there really is a difference.  Not usually in the quality of the ladies shoes, but there is a disparity in price range for the same pair of shoes.  Take for example the Sunday ad that reads “Small size ladies shoes at discounted prices!”  It could be that the store is over stocked in those sizes and needs to reduce inventory in order to make room for the next season’s styles.  It could also mean that on the whole, sales have been down in that particular department or store and they are trying to drum up business.  On the other hand, wholesale prices at the outlet mall is another story altogether.  Again, take for example wholesale ladies shoes.  What has probably happened is that the stock they have on hand was returned from distributors who couldn’t sell enough of the product and the manufacturer is willing to let them go at prices they would have sold those shoes to a retailer.  In short, womens shoes at wholesale prices are probably last season’s stock, or end of this season’s stock.

There is one other variable here, and that is quality.  If we are talking about ladies designer shoes then they tend to be pricey.  Consumers are paying for quality as well as the name. Womens shoes that are sold at a discount or wholesale at an outlet store could very well have a flaw somewhere that did not pass quality control.  The flaw or flaws may be minor and the shoes are saleable but not at full price.  Thus, they are offered as “Discount Ladies Shoes” or “Wholesale Ladies Shoes.”

If you are on a tight budget but would like the prestige of owning a pair of ladies designer shoes then this is a viable option.  After all, no one but you and the sales clerk know they were not purchased for full retail price.  And no one needs to know that you didn’t buy them last season when they were a “hot item.”  I am sure no one is going to take out a magnifying glass to check for flaws so you are safe on that end as well.  Don’t let a little thing like reduction in price deter you from buying those ladies designer shoes.  Think of it this way.  For the price your snooty neighbor paid for one pair of shoes you can own two or three pairs of fashionable ladies shoes.  In no time at all your closet will be full and hers will be half empty.  Who’s laughing now?
